This coffee comes from the Sidamo region, in southern Ethiopia. It is a very beautiful and almost isolated region, known in particular because a large part of Ethiopia's gold is found there. Unfortunately, this causes local tensions between miners and farmers.
Sidamo is the main coffee-producing region in Ethiopia. Its coffee is so appreciated on international markets that its export accounts for 60% of the country's foreign exchange earnings.
This is a purely "Forest Coffee", meaning that the coffee grows wild in the forest and remains preserved over time. Although it does not have organic certification, it could be considered organic coffee, like many other Ethiopian coffees. There is not much to justify beyond the fact that it is simply the story of a poor country.
This coffee retains the typical characteristics of Ethiopian coffees. It offers a very delicate and interesting cup profile, with a wide variety of notes coming from both its processing method and the soil in which it grows.
