The coffee is grown according to organic and Fair Trade certification criteria in the municipality of Cuilco, Oaxaqueño hamlet, in the department of Huehuetenango, using compost as fertilizer and cultural practices for pest and disease control, which creates an ideal microclimate for obtaining high-quality coffees.
It is shade-grown at an altitude of 1,850 meters, with mixed varieties such as Caturra, Bourbon, and Catuai.

Huehuetenango is located in the northwest region and produces some of the most remarkable coffees in the country. This department is in the highest and driest region, allowing coffee to grow at an altitude of around 2,000 meters above sea level. Its bean is characterized by a fine and intense acidity.

More precisely, these plantations are cultivated on slopes greater than 50% and in mountains located above 1,700 meters of altitude, with a loamy-clay soil that is not very stony, which favors optimal plant development.

The care given to the coffee plants, thanks to the supply of appropriate nutrients based on soil analysis and the preservation of their environment, notably through the establishment of natural barriers and plant strips to avoid the loss of soil richness during rains, constitutes the basis of constant and quality production every year.
